Ford Motor Company’s Whitney Drake on Social PR
Ford Motor Company Communicator Whitney Drake caught up with Geoff Livingston at NewComm Forum a couple of weeks ago. She gave the Buzz Bin’s readers some insights into Ford’s Twitter activity, which is an excellent demonstration of crisis PR, as well as the more public Black Mustang Calendar issue. Whitney also teased us a little about Ford’s social media future…

While I applaud Whiney and Ford “taking part in the conversation,” they really didn’t do enough to get the whole story out there and the general perception on the car forums is still that Ford wouldn’t let the members make their calendar.
Ford has every right to protect their brand, I wholeheartedly support that, but this one left a scar on the car community that hasn’t faded.
