Which social networking sites are really driving traffic? According to B2B Marketing Blog, StumbleUpon is a top contender.

Emergence Marketing makes an example out of Poland Spring’s new “eco-friendly” bottle design, saying that the shape of the bottle alone isn’t enough to relay the true message of the eco-friendly value. He says, “marketers forget sometimes is that most people no longer trust their companies or the messages coming from them.”

Women are a top target for marketers, from “soccer moms” to “mommy bloggers”, but can women be compartmentalized into one category? Not really. So, Yahoo! launched its new site for women, Shine, which features beauty, celebrities and entertainment. Kay at Beneath the Brand is left wanting more.

Steve Field at D-Ring writes up a highly successful Navy blog: “The Destroyermen is a blog written by crew members who want to give a realistic, unvarnished view of what life is like on this ship… One of the interesting trends is a series called “Eye Candy for Sailors,” which shows pictures of the cool things sailors do on the job. It works because it is authentic. It’s got a real voice.”
