I have been a big fan of Prahalad since I first read his work on core competency. His innovative approach to business and problem solving on a global scale is inspiring ... and comes, as you say, from a perspective that is inverted. Reminds me of a video called Shift Happens. Fascinating facts.

Lauren and Adele: Thanks for coming by. It's also easy to act like a Philadelphia Eagle fan at SxSW. I was not impressed with some of the crowd behavior.

I'm just back from SXSW and after 5 days in a fishbowl, I really appreciate another perspective. The emergence of the micro-role to stitch together global social networks in business has also been growing significantly in the non-profit sector Over the last 10 years. Many of these principles have been bubbling up from that sector, born out of pure necessity to do big work with small resources. Thanks for reminding me about the big picture.

In some ways I count myself lucky that my company has not completely embraced social networking tools or the latest shiny gadget and become obcessed. (gasp!) Not becoming mired in the tools allows for perspective. At SXSWi it is easy to become too close to the tools and hoopla and not think big picture goals. Reminds me of the story of three blind men and the elephant...
