Geoff Livingston Says:
All is well that ends well...
this just in from the department of we've-already-covered-this department.
just adding .02 (HEY WHAT HEPPENED TO HEPPEN TO THE C with the LINE through it thingy that means cents? it's gone...gone gone...) :) just like the "controversy" over who called what what when...
Ok seriously...it's good to see sociable people resolving social issues with politeness and tact.
I'd like to order some pancakes...now...to go with the lamest comment follow up comment I've ever posted-but was so star struck over the names on the comments list I just <i> had</i> to wiggle my way in...
see you at tiffany's...

I think Jeff's comment pretty much resolves this issue.

I certainly echo Jeff's sentiments that he thanked and acknowledged me -- both verbally and online -- at the event we worked on together in Cambridge last year.

Jeff, I think your move to name all of your events as "Breakfast with Jeff Pulver (and Friends) in [City/Town]" ensures that both breakfast series will keep their distinct identities and offer someone for everyone. I also look forward to working with you on future breakfasts!

Geoff,

Back in July in Tel Aviv I hosted the first of a series of the current series of "Real-Time Social Networking" events - see: http://pulverblog.pulver.com/archives/007223.html

And late last year these events evolved to include breakfast too.

And so in November, with Bryan's help, I hosted a "Breakfast with Jeff Pulver (and Friends) in Boston" - http://pulverblog.pulver.com/archives/007688.html - and Bryan was thanked for his help with that event. I enjoyed working with Bryan. And I look forward to working with Bryan with a future breakfast.

At all the events I host, I encourage people to engage in such things as "real-time social tagging" and this is something that has to be experienced to be understood. This is something that is unique to the social networking events that I host.

And yes, after reading your blog post, if it was possible to change the names of the events currently being planned in Facebook I would.

Future events will follow the naming: "Breakfast with Jeff Pulver (and Friends) in [City/Town]" (The fact that the people who attend are friends from the world of social media and that we may be having breakfast is a pure coincidence.)

And special thanks to Bryan Person for hosting the first mashup of Breakfast and Social Media.

As CustomScoop sponsored the first-ever SMB, I have enjoyed going to them when I can and think they are terrific events and that Bryan has done a great job. I was also wondering what the deal was with the Pulver events.

I agree with Connie, out of politeness, it would be nice if Jeff acknowledged that the concept started with Bryan.

FYI, Bryan Person will be in Austin for a Social Media Breakfast sometime during Feb. 19-25 -- date, time, location to be announced via Social Media Club Austin.

And my $.02 is that it would have been nice for Jeff Pulver to give a nod to Bryan on this. It's not like Social Media Breakfast is a trademarked event, but it's polite practice to recognize the origin. Also agree about including Social Media Clubs or other groups in the area -- Jeff Pulver is a great social media advocate and established groups would probably be happy to promote his events or ask him to speak at theirs.
