After a quick bite to eat – we’re back!
Cynthia de Lorenzi is the founder of Success in the City, and she is sharing her quick thoughts on social media with us.
Again, the conversation has turned briefly to Twitter. Discussing this mobile community has proved to be a highlight of the conference.
Cynthia talked about the power of social networking and engagement. She presented a question: what is the most important thing to hear today – are you finding answers?
One attendee asked – how do you get people TO the conversation? How do you create an audience?
The answer: every time you are reaching out to your members/customers/consumers – make sure that when you are communicating with them (sending a letter, newsletter, email etc…) you include your blog link. Those key people need to be are aware of what you are doing, and invited to be involved.
Another attendee asked about what is the end goal of new media? Especially translated into marketing – increased revenue, membership, ROI, lifetime value etc?
The answer: It’s a long term strategy. It’s a piece of a puzzle. It’s how and where you do it, and who you’re talking to. It’s about broadening what you’re doing to affect the bottom line.
Moving along…

Thanks for blogging this event Larissa!
