Geoff - thanks for your kind words but it was my pleasure and joy to play a small role in what I am sure will prove an important resource. You are my role model when it comes to book writing! So a virtual toast to you dear friend on your launch of Now Is Gone.

Thank you, Valeria. It is hard work, as you know, too. Is being a natural writer a curse or a boon? I don't know, but I do love it!

Geoff,

Writing is hard work. Writing at night after a full day of other work and publishing on a blog at the same time demonstrates dedication and resilience.

There was a book I read a while back called "Zero Time" by Ray Yeh. Here's a brief description: "Being a zero-time company involves more than compressing time -- it's about providing value for every customer at every opportunity. To achieve this, businesses must be willing to restructure and compress relationships. It's about taking advantage of all that our digital world has to offer -- without the Internet, you can't be in zero time, period."

"Now is gone" reminds me of that sense of urgency, and I know companies are listening.

Great choice on the self gift of the Monaco. Steve McQueen actually followed around F1 driver Jo Siffert, to get into character for the great movie LeMans. Mr. McQueen went as far as to "borrow" Mr. Sifffert's actual watch which was the famous Monaco Chronograph. I don't believe he ever got it back..

Geoff,

Great congrats on this and I know your work will in the end bring all of us to a deeper understanding of new media. And what a fantastic group of contributors you gathered.

Bravo from Texas!
