[...] Most importantly, from a social standpoint, it’s a lot easier to make friends, and it’s a lot easier to interact with them. I like my Twitter friends, but in 6 days I created more friends on Pownce than I have in 6 weeks on Twitter. Further, we’re having more meaningful conversations. So it’s meeting my style better than Twitter. Does that mean I am going to abandon Twitter? Not yet. [...]

Yeah, I agree Sarah. It'll be a time based thing for me, too. If I see chatter picking up on Pownce I'll go that way, but for no it seems a lot quieter.

David, I have serious questions about the marketing value of either to be frank. I actually just enjoy the networking so I have not done a great analysis. Though I do see some organizations taking great advantage of Twitter's feeds.

To be fair, I'll post a final decision and analyze the pros and cons from a marketing perspective. This future post will hopefully better address your question.

Thanks Geoff -- I'd love to read your thoughts on the comparative advantages of each as they pertain to a client's needs.

Now that I've finally got my picture uploaded (although that I had to download Firefox to do it is kind of silly), I'm more happy with Pownce and will start adding more contacts and playing with it. I like that it has more features than Twitter, but someone else pointed out that good old fashioned email works just as well if you want to blast out files or photos and the like...so my quesiton remains if Twitter and Pownce and Jaiku and the like are even necessary. Time will tell...
